Lazio vs Torino: Match preview
Lazio will host Torino in the tenth Serie A round on Wednesday at the Olimpico Stadium in Rome. After some poor results, Lazio returned to the winning ways in the last match and they enter this match after winning against Fiorentina.
This will give them great confidence before this match. On the other hand, Torino has suffered two defeats in their last four games and they are not in a good shape before this match.
Lazio team news:
Lazio started the new season quite well, with a win against Sampdoria away in the first round this season. That was followed by a draw at home in the derby against Roma, where they started to be quite inconsistent, and so it is today. Lazio has scored four wins, three draws and two league defeats, having scored 18 goals in 9 games so far, receiving at least one in each game. After a series of poor results, their form has improved in the last four games, having achieved two wins and two draws.
Lazio is two points behind Napoli, which means fourth place, while they are five points behind third-placed Atalanta. But this will be their chance to get closer to the Champions League positions, which will be their main goal this season. As we mentioned earlier, Lazio won last season’s away game against Fiorentina and will enter this match with a positive mood.
Probable lineup: Strakosha; Bastos, Acerbi, Luiz Felipe; Lulic, Luis Alberto, Cataldi, Milinkovic-Savic, Marusic; Caicedo, Immobile.
Torino team news:
On the other side we have Torino, who also started this season with two wins in the first two rounds in the league. That was in matches against Sassuolo at home and Atalanta away. Everyone thought this was going to be one of the best seasons for this club. Especially since they have really played phenomenally in recent years and they have shown that they can fight for places leading to Europe. But in the third round, they lost to Lecce at home and have since started poor results.
Torino so far has achieved three wins, two draws and four losses, while scoring 11 goals in the first nine rounds this season, however, receiving one goal more, which shows that this was not quite the start they had envisioned at the club. They are currently in a four-game streak without a win in the league, with two losses and two draws in the process.
Probable lineup: Sirigu; Lyanco, Nkoulou, Izzo; Laxalt, Lukic, Rincon, Baselli, Ansaldi; Zaza, Belotti.
We think that Lazio is a better team and should win this game. Still, both teams are in need of points and Torino won’t give up so easily. Because of that it is not impossible if Torino scores some goals in Rome.
