Tottenham vs Liverpool: Match preview
Jose Mourinho is facing big problems in the match against Liverpool. Given the number of injured players the Portuguese have been seriously counting on since joining the Roosters’ bench.
On the other hand, Klopp is doing his best. Liverpool is winning and all players are ready to continue the winning streak, thus solidifying their leadership position.
Tottenham team news:
In the last Premier League game, Tottenham was defeated 1-0 by Southampton. This is a match that has gotten worse as a result of Kane’s injury – after which they are six points behind leading into the Champions League.
The Spurs have not lost a back-to-back game this season, and their home form has been encouraging – four wins from five games led by Mourinho. One defeat came from Chelsea with a score of 2-0.
Tottenham will enter this match without Harry Kane who is injured but Son returns. Mourinho said he did not see him as a replacement for Kane in that position. Moussa Sissoko also joined the injured list, with Lloris, Ndombele, Rose and Davies off the machine for some time.
Probable lineup: Gazzaniga; Aurier, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Vertonghen; Dier, Winks; Lamela, Alli, Lucas; Son.
Liverpool team news:
For Liverpool, this match is one of those touted as one of their toughest tests of the season. We say this especially since it comes before another tough duel next week when Manchester United is coming to Anfield.
The Reds have been playing every three days for the past month, having a hell of a schedule. Still, most of the first team had nine days to prepare for this match, which means they will travel to North London, both vacant and premature.
Klopp cannot count on Fabinha and Keita, while Shaqiri and Matip have returned to the training process.
Probable lineup: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson; Henderson, Wijnaldum, Oxlade-Chamberlain; Salah, Firmino, Mane.
If Tottenham was complete, this visit to London for the Liverpool team would be extremely difficult. Whereas this way, the Reds need to just keep up the game they play and the win should not be missing.
Liverpool has the opportunity to do something that no other team in English history has done. With a win to 61 points out of a possible 63, which is really fascinating and it seems like no team can stop Liverpool at the moment.
