Everton vs Burnley: Match preview
Things are certainly not going as planned for Everton this season. However, with the home-field advantage and the likable appearance of Carlo Ancelotti coming to Goodison Park this Thursday, we reckon the hosts will be happy only with the win.
Everton team news:
Everton split the spoils for the second time last week after Arsenal managed to improve their scores with 0-0. Although they recorded more shots, the hosts failed to score and ended the ninety minutes without scoring a goal.
Still, the hosts have been undefeated in the last three Premier League games. Everton, who at one point seemed very insecure moving into the relegation zone, are now ranked 14th on the table with 19 points to their name. Everton has lost only three times in front of their fans so far.
As for absenteeism, Joean-Philippe Gbamin, Theo Walcott, Morgan Schneiderlin, Alex Iwobi and Andre Gomes will not be available for Ancelotti’s first line-up.
Probable lineups: Pickford; Sidibe, Mina, Holgate, Digne; Sigurdsson, Davies, Delph; Bernard, Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison.
Burnley team news:
Meanwhile, Burnley will head to Goodison Park after two straight wins. Their previous away match was positive, where they won 1-0 against Bournemouth. While at home they secured all three points against Newcastle, after Chris Wood scored the only goal in that game.
It’s also worth noting that Burnley has looked far from convincing this season in most of their away games. The guests have so far achieved only two wins and two losses in the last four games. To make matters worse, Burnley has only won one of his last five visits to this stadium.
Ben Gibson and Aaron Lennon might be available to Burnley, but Jeff Hendrick has been suspended.
Probable lineups: Pope; Bardsley, Tarkowski, Mee, Taylor; Brady, Westwood, Cork, McNeil; Barnes, Wood.
We believe that Everton is a better team. That is why our prediction is that they will win this match. On the other hand we don’t expect much goals to be score. So, we go with Everton’s victory without many goals scored.
