Atletico Madrid vs Granada: Match preview
As things stand now, it is certain that Atletico Madrid’s players are the biggest disappointment for this year’s edition of the Spanish La Liga. Namely, Simeone’s team is currently only sixth in the table, although in previous years we are used to seeing them just behind Barca and Real.
As for Granada, it is certain that this team no longer provides as good games as it did in the first few rounds. Still, it is sure that all fans of this team should be satisfied with what their players have done so far, considering that they played at Segunda at this time last year.
Atletico Madrid team news:
Ever since Diego Simeone came to Madrid, and it was way back in December 2011, the Madrid club have not been doing so badly at this stage of the season.
Atletico is sixth in the league and just because of the bad plays of all other clubs, they can still hope to gain fourth place. After a big win in the semi-finals of the Super Cup (better to say a glorious turn in the playoffs against Barcelona), everything stopped at Atletico, who has scored one goal in the next five matches!
In the championship, Atletico lost to Eibar 0-2 and Real 0-1, while on the home field they draw against Leganes in a goalless game. We’ve been saying that Atletico has been having a lot of trouble attacking and scoring since day one of this season.
Briefly, during December and early January, the problem disappeared, but very soon it was only talked about again and it became a fierce stumbling block for Atletico. Who knows what it’s going to be this Saturday because, apart from Diego Costa and Felix, Morata is not in the lineup.
Probable lineup: Oblak, Vrsaljko, Hermoso, Savić, Lodi, Koke, Llorente, Partey, Saul Niguez, Vitolo, Correa.
Granada team news:
Unlike Atletico, Granada players are enjoying this season. At the very beginning of the season, Granada has amassed a really large pool of points, which certainly helps her in the current moments when not everything is perfect for the club.
Granada is right in the middle of the scale. They are quite far from the dangerous zone, and have also reached the semi-finals of the King’s Cup. In that semi-final they will play against Athletic.
Granada is first and foremost a classic home team. They have an excellent 7-1-3 ratio at his stadium, while things are completely turning away at 2-2-7. By the way, Granada opened the season 2-2-0 away and lost 7/7 of their last games on the sidelines.
Probable lineup: Silva, Diaz, Sanchez, Duarte, Neva, Foulquier, Gonalons, Herrera, Machis, Soldado, Fernandez.
Atletico is no longer eligible for mistake and it is certain that from the first minute they will start offensively towards the Granada goal. That is why we believe they will score at least two goals.
