Borussia Dortmund vs Inter: Match preview
Dortmund and Inter continue their Champions League adventure in a direct fight for second place leading to the knockout phase. The leader in the standings, Barcelona, escapes them by three points, as both teams have so far collected four points on their own account and a possible celebration in this match could bring them next round.
Borussia Dortmund team news:
Dortmund started their Champions League adventure very well. They took point against Barca and celebrated against Slavia. But then were defeated against Inter in the last round, perhaps in a crucial clash, allowing them to become equally involved in the fight to move on.
That is why this match is of great importance for the Millionaires, where with a possible victory they would “zero” the defeat in Milan and take a big step towards the knockout phase.
Dortmund have won only two of their last eight Champions League matches; but that did not stop them from reaching the knockout phase in five of their last six competitions, and it would therefore be a shock to leave the competition this year after the groups. Dortmund defeated Wolfsburg 3-0 in the Bundesliga, and so are confidently awaiting this match.
They will be able to count on Reus and Alcacer, who will be waiting for his opportunity from the bench considering that he is not totally fit, but he can help the team.
Probable lineup: Hitz; Hakimi, Akanji, Hummels, Guerreiro; Delaney, Witsel; Hazard, Brandt, Sancho; Reus
Inter team news:
At the outset, Inter made his life startling by drawing with Slavia, and he found himself in a very difficult situation. But it has to be said that their results have coincided, and with the victory over Dortmund they are again equal, although with those two points lost against Slavia they would be in a much better position.
Inter are the last Italian team to win the Champions League, but they still without victory in last three away games in Germany. In addition they have only celebrated in two of their last 13 away European matches.
Probable lineup: Handanovic; Godin, De Vrij, Skriniar; Candreva, Sensi, Brozovic, Barella, Biraghi; Martinez, Lukaku
We think that it is pretty clear that both teams are heading for the victory in this match. This is especially a case for Dortmund, who, in the event of the same number of points as Inter, would end up behind them because of defeat in Milan. So, considering that both teams will celebrate against Slavia and lose to Barca, this match is crucial for them to move on.
