RB Leipzig – Schalke 04: Match preview
The Bundesliga Round six derby is played between the leader Leipzig and fifth-placed Schalke. The host has played virtually without mistake so far and with four wins they have only one draw.
Schalke also drew once, but they also had one defeat, so they scored three points less. In the past three duels they have celebrated, with Leipzig opening the Champions League with a guest win. Last season, the match finished 0-0.
RB Leipzig team news:
You can almost say that Leipzig is perfect so far, on three fronts. The victory in the Cup was quite expected, but it could not be predicted that the Champions League would be opened with a triumph, away against Benfica with 2: 1. In the championship they won four times and draw once, but that draw was against Bayern. So it cannot be said to be a big failure. They are really playing well and have scored goals in every match.
First they beat Fortuna in Dusseldorf with 4: 0, and then easily beat M’gladbach with 3: 1. In the last round, they went through Bremen and beat Werder 3-0. This time, first striker Ti.Werner was out of the spotlight and didn’t score while Y.Poulsen was on the bench.
Defenders Orban and Saracchi scored goals and midfielder Sabitzer also. Although Laimer midfielder receive a red card half an hour before the end it didn’t bother them. He won’t be in the lineup now, and there will certainly be a few more changes.
Probable starting lineup for Leipzig: Gulacsi – Konate, Upamecano, Orban – Mukiele, Demme, Saracchi – Sabitzer, Forsberg – Y.Poulsen, Ti.Werner
Schalke 04 team news:
Schalke did not play well in the first two rounds and failed to score a goal. But, they were playing away at M’gladbach and home against Bayern. At M’Gladbach they scored a point and were powerless against the champions.
In the last three rounds, Schalke has been at the top level and this is expected for a long time, as in the past they were desperately weak practically from start to finish. The series of victories began at home against Hertha, when it was safe 3-0. In the previous round, the most striking triumph was when they celebrated 5: 1 at Paderborn.
The first received the goal and then destroyed the host, and the best at court were Harit and Kutucu. In the last round, a much harder task at home against Mainz.
They had the lead and then received a goal, so it seemed that it would remain unresolved, but Harit scored again, just a minute before the end for the big celebration. Harit also assisted in the first goal, so it is evident that he is in excellent form. It is therefore irreplaceable, but perhaps Nastasic will replace S.Sane, and Uth may play instead of McKennie.
Probable Schalke starting lineup: Nubel – Kenny, Stambouli, Nastasic, Oczipka – Mascarell, S.Serdar – Caligiuri, Uth, Harit – G.Burgstaller
Both teams are in good form, with Leipzig playing great from the start and being favorites in this match. Schalke has played three good matches in a row, but they will have a difficult fourth one, especially since they are on one of the toughest away matches in the Bundesliga.
