Monaco vs Nice: Match preview
On Tuesday we are also expecting the first matches in the extraordinary round of the French Ligue 1. This time we have analyzed the duel between Monaco and Nice. We thought Monaco could do no worse than last season, but we were still fooled.
Namely, the team from the Principality is only 19th in the standings with only three points, which is really below every level when it comes to the ambitions of this team, and it is known that Monaco wants to reach the Champions League standings. At this point it is quite unrealistic.
In the last round, Leonardo Jardim’s team drew on a visit to Rems, although they made a solid impression in that match. Nice is coming to Monaco to provide great game at the opening of the championship. Namely, the team from the Cote d’Azur is currently at a fantastic third place which at the end of the season brings the Champions League placement, which would be a fantastic success for this team. In the last round, Nice played a pretty good match as they celebrated on their ground against Dijon and want to repeat something similar in their away visit to Monaco.
Monaco team news:
Monaco is severely bothered at the start of the new season and they still haven’t been able to celebrate. Six rounds were played and all they did was three draws. They also lost the same number of times in matches where they scored a lot of goals.
Exactly ten in those three defeats, and the first two draws were 2: 2. Only in the last round did they finally manage to keep the net intact, but they didn’t even score, so it was 0-0 at Reims. After the defeat to Marseille, when they had a 2-0 lead, coach Jardim made several changes to the team, and now they may have the same lineup.
Probable lineup: Lecomte – Maripan, Badiashile, Glik – Aguilar, Bakayoko, Golovin, Ad.Silva, Dias – Martins, Balde
Nice team news:
They play surprisingly well at the start of the season, though they have lost two games already. They have celebrated four times. It is very interesting that in all six games so far the result has been 2: 1 both when they won and when they lost.
They have already lost two local derbies, against Marseille at home and Montpellier away. The most valuable win is the away game against Rennes. They also defeated Dijon in their home field last round. At Montpellier they led and lost, and against Dijon they reversed the result. We do not expect there will be a change in composition now, except perhaps Tameze.
Probable lineup: Benitez – Burner, Pelmard, Nsoki, Coly – Cyprien, Lees Melou, Tameze – Ounas, Atal, Dolberg
Monaco certainly can do a lot better than they have played so far. On the other hand Nizza has lot of points. Still, Monaco could finally play one good match from start to finish for the first win.
