Valencia vs Getafe: Match preview
It’s just unbelievable how Valencia’s players are playing at the start of this season. Namely, the “bats” celebrated with a minimum score when visiting Chelsea as part of the first round of the Champions League group stage. But afterwards, in the last round of La Liga only managed to draw with Leganes (1: 1), who is currently at last place in the standings.
They are hosting Getafe, who will hardly be able to repeat last season when they struggled to qualify for the Champions League until the last round. Still they managed to reach the second European competition, which was certainly a great success.
In the last round, Getafe played a great match as they celebrated at home against Mallorca 4-2. It was a match where they dominated from the first to the last minute. If they want to re-qualify for the Champions League, which is certainly the primary goal for this season, Valencia must win matches like this.
Valencia team news:
Lots of oscillations for Valencia at the start of the season, which is not surprising since they had internal problems. Suddenly, coach Marcelino went away and now it’s Celades trying to get the most out of the team.
Occasionally, it goes as planned as they beat Chelsea 1-0 at the start of the Champions League, which is a great achievement. But in LaLiga they were completely shattered and lost 5: 2 to Barcelona.
In the last round they played against Leganes and after the victory in London they were hoping for another triumph. They played 1-1 and this is definitely a new disappointment. Gaya was injured so J. Costa could now go to the left flank. F.Torres would jump into the midfield, and Gameiro would attack.
Probable lineup: Cillessen – Wass, G.Paulista, Garay, J.Costa – Parejo, Kondogbia, F.Torres, Guedes – Gameiro, Rodrigo
Getafe team news:
Getafe lost to Atletico Madrid in the first round 1-0, which is no surprise. A series of three draws followed and they all had the same result, 1: 1.
At home, they split points with Athletic and Alaves, and away with Betis. The results are showing us that Getafe played tight and with few goals, all of which continued into the first round of the European League. The difference is that they finally won Trabzonspor 1-0.
On Sunday finally a completely different game for Getafe and a 4-2 victory over Mallorca. Because of this, there may not be a change in composition unless Fajr replaces Jason in the midfield.
Probable lineup: Soria – D.Suarez, Djene, Cabrera, Nyom – Arambarri, Maksimović, Fajr, Cucurella – J.Mata, J.Molina
Both teams are oscillating, but it looks like Getafe is in better form and could be dangerous on Mestalla. Valencia wants to make a last-round impression and we believe they will attack, which means there may be goals in this match.
