Tottenham Hotspur vs Bayern Munchen: Match preview
In this Champions League group, Tottenham and Bayern are the biggest favorites to win the first two positions. But in the first round, Tottenham only draw against Olympiacos.
Bayern was expected to beat Crvena Zvezda on their field, and were seeded first in the Bundesliga after winning last weekend. Tottenham also won, but they are only in fifth place in the Premier League. In the recent past, these rivals did not meet in European competitions.
Tottenham Hotspur team news:
Tottenham’s results are variable at the start of the new season, and they failed to celebrate in the first round in the Champions League. They played at Olympiacos and were considered favorites, which they justified in the first half hour of the game. They led with 2: 0 goals from Kane and Moura and seemed sure to celebrate.
There was an unexpected drop in the game and at the end of the first half they received one goal and at the beginning of the second half the second goal. It is a failure, especially after safe leadership and now the current vice-champion of Europe is under pressure.
They were also under pressure in Saturday’s Premier League clash against Southampton at home, as the championship results were not good either. They lost two rounds away to Leicester and it was their second defeat, but Southampton still won.
It was not easy considering that after the lead they stayed with the player less on the field due to the Aurier exclusion. And in such a relationship, H.Kane’s power scored the goal 2: 1. There will certainly be a change in composition and the opportunity could be given to Dele Alli and Wanyama.
Probable starting lineup: Lloris – Aurier, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Davies – Wanyama, Sissoko, Ndombele – Eriksen, Dele Alli – H.Kane
Bayern Munchen team news:
Bayern did not make the wrong move in the first round of the Champions League. They achieved the expected home win over Crvena Zvezda 3-0. It wasn’t quite easy a victory as the final result suggests, because ten minutes before the end it was only 1-0 for the Bavarians.
Most importantly, though, they scored the starting three points, which are now easier to play with. Otherwise, not counting the Super Cup match, the Bavarians do not yet know about the defeat this season and after two tied championship wins they have taken a leadership position.
After a draw in the derby at Leipzig, Bayern defeated Cologne at home 4-0 and on Saturday Paderborn away 3-2. It was another duel in which they were considered an absolute favorite. Still they did not easily reach the triumph, which the final result suggests. They played a pretty strong squad that lacked Goretzka due to injury and Perisic due to illness, and they won’t be in London either. Alaba should be back on the left flank, and maybe T.Muller jump in, to keep the team fresh.
Probable starting lineup: Neuer – Pavard, Sule, Boateng, Alaba – Kimmich, Alcantara – Coman, Coutinho, T.Muller – Lewandowski
Tottenham will try to make up for their loss of points in the first round against their biggest rival in the group. We expect the home side to be offensive. Still, Bayern is always ready to respond, which is why we forecast an effective game.
