Premier League Facts You Never Knew!

So, the EPL is here but we bet you didn’t knew anything about these cool 6 facts we are about to impart with you! And just to set your minds at ease, we promise to come back with more in a separate article. Without further ado, let’s get down to business.

1. Bobby Zamora, Obafemi Martins – They Kick with Both Feet

Now, this may not sound like a much of a noteworthy achievement, but come to think of it, it is. Bobby Zamora and Obafemi Martins are the only two players in the entire league who have managed to score a penalty shot with both their left and right foot. This is not to say in a single penalty, though!

It would have been properly barmy, no? Having footballers do that. Albeit we cannot begin to imagine how it could have been true.

2. Ryan Giggs Is the Most Loved Sub on Record

Oh, poor Ryan Giggs. You thought you could keep him back on the bench forever. Well, it turns out you cannot really, because Mr. Gigs have been put in play as a substitute more than any other player in the entire competition. And we do indeed mean the whole history of the league. That’s just barmy!

3.Wayne Rooney, Kevin Davies – Great Assists, Boys!

Did you know that Wayne Rooney and Kevin Davies were not only remarkable in scoring goals, but they were also quite decent at assisting, too! But we don’t just mean any goal out there. No, not quite. We have seen Rooney and Davies actually assist their own goals, too, which puts them well ahead of the competition!

4. Bale – Assists Too, But Gets a Yellow Card

Just when you thought things were okay for Gareth Bale he got a yellow card. Mr. Bale managed to assist his own goal and he also got a yellow card in the very same game. Now, this is not the wackiness we mean. It’s not the serious – can you believe this, really exclamation that we may all have been hoping for, but it still quite something to tell!

I mean, you assist your own goal and then get penalized. It’s not fair, but life is all about balance.

5. Man United – the Unbeatable

Did you know that Manchester United can be annoying? Why? Do you need to ask this question? The team are remarkably annoying because they are exceptionally good. And they never lost an EPL game at Old Trafford. Whoever is going to play against the chaps should ask themselves – perhaps this is not the time nor the place?

6. Poor Alan Shearer Missing One Penalty after Another

Alan Shearer has been one of the footballers to just not make it from a penalty shot. Now, you would be hasty to judge Mr. Shearer, but don’t be. The Economist recently talked to experts proving that penalty shots are sheer luck. And Alan Shearer is not Lucky.

7. James Milner – I Come and Win

James Milner has 47 Premier League games to his name. He hasn’t lost any. Do you think this is a coincidence? 47 is a solid number and one that will easily signal the opposition that there’s much to respect Mr. Milner about. Who’s going to beat this record? Is there anyone who’s even coming close in fact?

8. Stubborn Head, Good Results

Peter Crouch managed 50 headed goals outpacing 16 EPL teams put together. Ouch! Mr. Crouch definitely knows how to put himself out there and ram the ball into the opponent’s goal. It’s been most amusing for us, too finding about Mr. Crouch’s propensity for reining goals from above.

This concludes our overview of this week’s cool tips and tricks about EPL. Now, it’s not always easy to be all aware of what’s happening in the league and we don’t think you will be able to get all of these on your own.

Still, lookout for our second part of such article that will come out soon and introduce you to a world of new cool factoids about the long history of the EPL! And meanwhile, do remember to hang around and read through the other neat materials we have brought for you.
