The 2018 Word Cup is so close, that we are already dropping our duties in our heads and preparing for the upcoming football fray. But while we wait, it wouldn’t hurt to take a look at the youngest footballers who are about to enter the competition. Now, FIFA qualifies a youngster as an athlete who is under the age of 21, but, just to expand our search here, we will also consider those athletes that are in their 22nd year as well.
Let’s take a look at the arguably 10 best footballers who will be joining the 2018 World Cup competition, hoping to distinguish themselves and the country they represent.
Trent Alexander-Arnold England
Trent Alexander-Arnold is one of the youngest competitors to enter the race. Only 19 years old, he has already helped with 33 goals for Liverpool this year alone and performed well during the Champions League Finals, even though his team ultimately lost!
Nevertheless, Mr Alexander-Arnold seems to be one of the young & promising stars to shine even brighter in the tournament. He will made his first forays into the competition on Thursday against Costa Rica and we heard he had been quite brilliant at turning an enemy’s attack and directing it back to their part of the field.
Cristian Pavon is an Argentinian midfielder who will play side-by-side with Lionel Messi. At 22, he is one of the older youngsters we have prepared for you. With five games for the team under his belt, he has already been tapped as one of the most important players by the country’s manager, Jorge Sampaoli.
Midfielders are young this year, especially because they have to be nimble when it comes to attacking and defending. Armine Harit is 20 and he will represent Morocco. He is primed to be a complete rookie, but one with quite the talent for the game. We will definitely happen what happens with young Harit at the upcoming games!
Mexico has found its energetic bunny with Hiving Lozano set to join a World Cup event for the first time! He has played for PSV Eindhoven and he has been able to score 19 times with the team in 34 matches he participated in. A valuable player with distinct qualities, Lozano is a great player.
Uruguay is primed to field a remarkable player in his own right. Rodrigo Bentancur is just 20 years old and he is already striking fear in the hearts of his football foes. Nimbly and quick at the game, he will definitely give other midfielders a lot of trouble trying to get hold of him and pin him down.
Timo Werner is Germany’s national football team regular. He has so far appeared in 13 national games and contributed seven goals, which is a rather decent achievement! He also managed to conclude a brilliant season at RB Leipzig. Just so that you know, he played 77 with Leipzig’s t-shirt and scored 42 times. In other words, watch out for Timo Werner, nationals!
Another serious contender, but this time from France. He is one of the most gifted players who will be toying around with the ball at the fields in Russia. He’s been rather quiet as part of his home club of Barcelona, but things are expected to take off during the World Cup. And if opponents underestimate him because he tends to be unassertive, that will cost them dearly.
From Colombia comes the 21-year-old Davidson Sanches who is one of the best centre-backs you have ever seen. He now plays for Tottenham Hotspur with the same relentless desire to shine as he did in Ajax. Passing up on him could be trouble for any team that faces Colombia.
Gabriel Jesus, Brazil
Brazil will step up its efforts to best its opponents with their Gabriel Jesus. Only 21 years old, Gabriel will plunge into the game with vim and vigour. He is one of the most accomplished forwards that will make an appearance at the tournament and it’s well worth keeping an eye on him to make sure that he is truly what you want from a player in his position.
Kylian Mbappe truly shines and outshines the competition on every count. He will be one of the most accomplished players to enter the tournament and we are absolutely pleased to see him make an entry. He is the other young Frenchman who will most certainly give the competitors some things to think about when they face them.
With this, our account of the nippers who will be competing during the World Cup concludes, but we expect to get still more exciting action at the event. Fingers crossed and let’s see what happens next!
